Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is recruiting for a Pupil Support Assistant at Priorsford Primary School (SBO10507). The role involves supporting pupils with a range of tasks including IT use, listening and following instructions, and assisting with personal care and supervision during school day activities.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications are required, but an acceptable standard of school education is desirable.
• On the job training will be provided when available.

Responsibilities

• Help with IT tasks as required.
• Listen to and follow instructions.
• Assist with self-care and personal hygiene.
• Clean up children who are wet or soiled.
• Prepare resources and materials.
• Supervise during intervals and lunch times.
• Assist with feeding and medication after training.
• Support individuals or groups as requested by the Head Teacher, Class Teacher and/or Learning Support Teacher.
• Monitor pupil progress informally in learning and behaviour.
• Contribute to pupil reports for reviews and planning meetings.
• Liaise with the Head Teacher, Class Teacher and Learning Support Teacher as required.
