Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Primary School Playworker to join a Brixton-based school. You will support EYFS playtime and classroom activities as a Teaching Assistant/Playworker on a temporary contract from Sep 2026 to July 2027.

The role is full-time, term-time only, with a daily rate from the minimum and potential extension or permanent appointment depending on performance. You must have UK TA experience and safeguarding training updated in the last year.

JOB TITLE - Primary School Playworker

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Primary Playworker to join a school in Brixton, SW2.

The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff.

Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Brixton, SW2.

• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 100 per day
• Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year of TA experience in the UK
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
