Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Primary Playworker/Teaching Assistant to support EYFS children during playtime and classroom activities at a Brixton school. The role is full-time on a temporary contract starting Sep 2026, ending July 2027, with a daily rate of 100 pounds.

JOB TITLE - Primary School Playworker

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Primary Playworker to join a school in Brixton, SW2.

The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff.

Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Brixton, SW2.
• Type of work - Playworker supporting EYFS children supporting playtime/class activities
• Position - Teaching Assistant/Playworker
• Contract or position start date - SEP 2026
• Duration / Likely Duration - Until end of the academic year July 2027
• Contract or position end date (if applicable) - July 2027
• Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary Contract
• Full time/part time - Full time
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 100 per day
• Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year of TA experience in the UK
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years

OTHER

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy.
