About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Editorial and Delivery team in the Education UK Division, creating high-quality, market-leading resources for primary school students.

In this role you will be responsible for taking print and digital projects for Literacy, and other subjects as required, through the production process, working with authors, freelancers and other in-house editors, and design and digital teams, to ensure that high-quality, market-appropriate products publish on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

  • Applying editorial skills, judgement, and best practice to ensure that products are accurate, appropriate, accessible and published to specifications.
  • Progressing resources through the production process, from manuscript to finished product (both print and digital resources).
  • Proactive problem-solving to ensure that resources come out to schedule and within budget.
  • Building and fostering good working relationships with colleagues, freelancers, authors and suppliers.
  • Monitoring spend against defined budgets.
  • Developing skills in print and digital resource production for the school market.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be an expert in Primary Literacy with publishing experience in a similar role. Knowledge of phonics and early reading will also make you a standout.

  • Proficient in / an understanding of phonics and reading
  • Editorial experience, including experience of managing projects in a publishing environment
  • A background in publishing
  • IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • A creative and innovative mindset
  • Experience of teaching in the school types for which we produce resources
  • Experience of primary educational publishing.
