Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a primary setting in Sheffield. The role involves supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, assisting teachers with daily activities and helping learners stay engaged throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 TA qualification, have experience with primary-aged children and demonstrate patience, adaptability and strong communication with staff and families.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other school staff.
• Confidence supporting children with different learning needs.
• Commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily learning activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Assist pupils with reading, writing, Numeracy and wider learning.
• Help prepare classroom resources and activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions and wider school activities.
• Observe pupil progress and share feedback with the class teacher.
