Job summary

St Joseph's Catholic Primary School (Guildford) is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in our primary school. The role runs full-time, term-time (39 weeks per year), 30hrs per week, with a salary pro rata to £18,230–£18,344 for the year and an FTE of £25,133.

You will support children to access learning under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, helping them progress and engage with curriculum activities.

Qualifications

• An excellent level of written and spoken English and Maths is essential for this role.
• Ability to operate basic equipment
• Good listening skills and enthusiasm to learn
• Accuracy and ability to follow instructions

Responsibilities

• Following the direction of the class teacher and SENCO delivering learning and social and emotional support.
• Support children to access the curriculum so they make progress with their learning
• Confident in understanding the different challenges children with additional needs face and have an understanding of strategies which will help them to thrive.
• Be empathetic and nurturing in your approach.
