Job summary

The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd invites applications for a Primary HLTA/SEN Specialist in Birmingham. You will support mainstream and SEN provisions, cover lessons during PPA, and deliver targeted interventions across KS1/KS2 to raise literacy and numeracy outcomes.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils with SEND and collaborate with class teachers on progress tracking and safeguarding compliance, while accessing CPD and consultant support.

Qualifications

• Qualified level 3/4 NVQ/CACHE in Supporting Teaching & Learning or HLTA status.
• Experience in UK primary schools with National Primary Curriculum.
• Familiarity with primary phonics frameworks (Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle).
• Enhanced DBS check with Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher PPA time across KS1 & KS2.
• Lead targeted small-group intervention sessions focusing on SATs prep, literacy, and numeracy.
• Provide 1:1 or small-group SEN support (ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
• Assist with classroom management, pupil progress tracking, and safeguarding compliance.
