Job summary

Bushmead Primary & Nursery School in Luton is seeking an experienced HLTA to support learning across the primary and nursery age range. You will deliver high-quality lessons, including whole-class sessions during PPA, and provide targeted literacy and numeracy support for individuals and small groups in collaboration with teachers to plan and assess learning opportunities.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm or 5pm (dependent on staff meetings), term time plus 5 inset days, totaling 34.5

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
• Experience planning and delivering lessons across the primary age range.
• Ability to lead whole-class sessions and adapt to diverse learners.
• Strong background in literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Works collaboratively and values inclusion and high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality learning experiences, including whole-class lessons during teacher PPA.
• Support individual pupils and small groups to access the curriculum and progress.
• Deliver targeted literacy, numeracy and other area interventions.
• Work with teachers to plan, assess, and adapt learning opportunities.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils and promote confidence and love of learning.
• Support behaviour for learning and contribute to an inclusive classroom.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
