Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work across Primary Schools in Boldon. The role involves PPA cover, absence coverage, and targeted interventions from EYFS to KS2, with support across sessions starting in September.

The role requires HLTA status or Level 4 qualification, experience in primary settings, a solid understanding of the curriculum, and an enhanced DBS. Benefits include flexible working and ongoing development through Milk Academy.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or Level 4 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is required.
• Experience as HLTA in a primary school is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during PPA sessions and teacher absences.
• Lead whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher.
• Provide high-quality teaching and learning support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Deliver targeted interventions in Reading, Writing and Maths to raise attainment and close learning gaps.
• Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and senior leaders to support pupil progress.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.
• Assist with assessment, progress monitoring and pupil feedback.
