Job summary

St Laurence’s Catholic Primary School in Knowsley seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning. The role is temporary, part-time (28.5 hours per week) over 46 weeks per year, commencing 2 November 2026 and finishing 31 March 2027.

The successful candidate will have high expectations of pupils, be committed, enthusiastic and able to work independently and as part of a team. A warm, welcoming school environment is offered with a supportive staff.

Qualifications

• Have completed NVQ/NCFE Level 4 Teaching Assistants Course (or GCSE equivalent or higher).
• Experience working across all phases of primary school.
• Competent in English and Maths.
• Able to work well in a team and contribute to school life.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in primary classes.
• Work with 1:1 or small groups as required.
• Assist with end of Year Statutory assessments.
