Job Title: Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Corringham
Salary Range: £90-£130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025 (or earlier if available)
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? GSL Education are looking for a confident and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a mainstream primary school in Corringham. You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school while also delivering planned lessons and leading small group sessions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an HLTA qualification or equivalent experience who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support class teachers in the delivery of high-quality learning across all key stages.
• Plan and deliver lessons in the teacher’s absence, in line with the national curriculum.
• Provide targeted support to small groups and individual pupils.
• Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials and classroom resources.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Help manage pupil behaviour and encourage positive learning habits.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Job Requirements:

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or relevant higher-level classroom experience.
• Proven experience working as an HLTA within a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of the UK national curriculum and teaching practices.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons confidently and independently.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
