Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a long-term position at a welcoming primary school in Huyton. The role involves supporting pupils across the primary age range and delivering engaging lessons when the class teacher is absent.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team and play a key part in children’s learning and wellbeing. Start date ASAP / September 2026.

Qualifications

• Have experience working within a primary school setting.
• Hold HLTA, TA or equivalent experience.
• Be confident leading whole-class learning and small-group interventions.
• Have strong classroom management skills.
• Be enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting pupils.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Be able to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.

TeacherActive is excited to be working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Huyton, who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a long-term basis.

The successful candidate will be confident supporting pupils across the primary age range and able to deliver engaging lessons and interventions in the absence of the class teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about supporting children s learning, development and wellbeing.

The successful HLTA will:
