Job summary

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar seeks a Primary Teacher in Gaelic Medium for Uist Schools. The post is 21 hours per week on a maternity cover basis, with a salary of £27,828–£34,470 per annum (including £1,798 Distant Islands Allowance).

Applicants must hold an appropriate degree/diploma and GTC Scotland Registration. Fluency in Gaelic is essential. Interviews are in person, and PVG checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Teaching assigned classes with preparation and correction.
• Developing the school curriculum.
• Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil work.

• Providing advice and guidance to pupils on education.
• Promoting health, welfare and safety of pupils.
• Working with parents and staff.
• Undertaking continuing professional development.
• Participating in school planning and raising achievement.
• Contributing to the good order and wider needs of the school.
