Job summary

Luck Lane A Share Primary Academy in Huddersfield is seeking two outstanding Educational Teaching Assistants to support learning in a primary setting. The role runs 32.5 hours per week from 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time plus one extra week, with duties including assisting the teacher, delivering planned activities and supporting pupils with varied needs.

You will need GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, positive references and the ability to foster pupil engagement. DBS required.

Qualifications

• Maths and English to GCSE Grade C or equivalent
• Experience of working with children/young people in a school
• Experience of working with children who have SEN
• Ability to engage and influence others
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster good relationships with parents/carers and other outside agencies
• Excellent behaviour management skills
• Commitment to the safeguarding of young people
• Ability to monitor and evaluate impact of interventions and strategies
• Ability to deal with the personal care and comfort, and necessary treatments with pupils
• Ability to assist the teacher in planning class activities
• Ability to prepare differentiated materials and teaching aids suitable for learning activities
• Ability to use ICT to support learning

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and manage pupils in class
• Plan and deliver enrichment activities before and after school
• Supervise pupils before, during lunch and after school
• Monitor pupil progress and targets for SEN
• Coordinate care needs under SENDCo guidance
• Support safeguarding and academy policies in daily duties
