Job summary

GSL Education in Sheffield is seeking a Cover Supervisor (Primary) to support pupils and keep learning on track from September. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared activities, and help maintain a calm, productive classroom environment throughout the day.

The role requires confidence with primary-aged learners, strong communication, and the ability to follow lesson plans while working closely with teaching staff. DBS checks and background safeguarding awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
• Confident communication and classroom management skills.
• A patient, approachable and consistent manner.

Responsibilities

• Supervise primary classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and learning activities as instructed.
• Support pupils with their work and encourage positive participation.
• Maintain a safe, calm and well-structured classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour consistently in line with school policies.
• Provide appropriate feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff.
