Job summary

Eastfield Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, is recruiting a fixed-term Cover Supervisor for 13 hours per week during term time until 31 August 2027. The role involves supervising pupils during teacher absence, giving clear instructions, and feeding back on cover work.

Required are GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C or equivalent, experience with children, ICT proficiency, and strong interpersonal skills. Enhanced DBS and pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade A* to C or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Commitment to working with children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover supervision for absent teachers' classes as directed by the Principal and senior leaders
• Give clear instructions on set work and supervise pupils
• Liaise with class teachers and staff to clarify instructions
• Report non-participation to the class teacher
• Contribute to evaluating the work set for cover lessons
• Provide general support during unallocated periods
• Support behaviour management and ethos of the Academy
• Attend meetings and professional development within working hours
