Job summary

Academics is recruiting Primary Cover Supervisors to support local primary schools in Worksop, Nottinghamshire on a flexible temporary basis from November 2026.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a safe and engaging classroom, and build positive relationships with pupils across year groups. A BA Hons, Cache or NVQ Level 3 qualification is desirable and an Enhanced DBS is preferred, with the right to work in the UK essential.

Qualifications

• A BA Hons Degree, Cache or NVQ Level 3 qualification is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS certificate preferred; safeguarding training encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Maintain a positive, safe and engaging classroom environment.
• Support pupils' learning and behaviour throughout the school day.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
• Adapt confidently to different school settings and year groups.
• Follow all safeguarding procedures and school policies.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Previous experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting.
• A BA Hons Degree, Cache or NVQ Level 3 qualification, or relevant education-related qualification is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
• A commitment to safeguarding and completing annual safeguarding training.
• The right to work in the UK.
