Job summary

Sussex Primary Care is recruiting a GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician to join a busy GP practice serving ~8,000 patients. You will support medicines management, reconciliation, monitoring, and governance, working with the Prescribing Clinical Pharmacist and the wider team.

Development in shared care, audits, and cost-saving initiatives is encouraged. The post offers autonomy within a varied primary care medicines optimisation role, with opportunities to take ownership of projects and liaise

Qualifications

GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician with active registration.
Experience in medicines reconciliation or repeat prescribing.
Experience communicating with patients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently within scope and escalate when needed.
Experience using pharmacy IT systems (preferably SystmOne).

Responsibilities

Medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge and correspondence.
Updating medication records after discharge letters and specialist correspondence.
Supporting safe repeat prescribing processes.
Responding to prescription and medication queries from patients and clinicians.
Supporting medicines monitoring and monitoring blood tests.
Liaising with patients, community pharmacies and hospitals.
Undertaking medicines optimisation searches and prescribing audits.
Contributing to medicines governance and cost-saving initiatives.
