NHS Scotland invites applications for a Skilled Prison Nurse to join the Forth Valley Prison Healthcare team. The role focuses on delivering high quality primary care within a prison environment, in partnership with the Scottish Prison Service and wider agencies.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Prison Nurse with an interest in primary care to join our team Forth Valley Prisons. Our ethos is to deliver trauma informed, person centred, safe & effective care to our patients.

We are recruiting dynamic, compassionate and enthusiastic Nurses who want to be part of our multi disciplinary, integrated team. If you are looking for increased job satisfaction, a variety of challenging and exciting roles then come and join Forth Valley Prison Healthcare.

The team are currently undertaking new and exciting opportunities within the Primary Care nursing role. You will deliver high quality care and treatment within this unique environment, working in partnership with The Scottish Prison Service, and wider agencies. You will be a vital part of a holistic service, making a significant contribution to the health care needs, outcomes and experience of a complex and vulnerable population.

The post holder will be a first level registered nurse, looking to develop and enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will have the ability to work autonomously, with a high level of clinical decision making skills. They will be ambitious and a committed individual, supporting the development of a modern and innovative healthcare service.

All posts are at times subject to rotation. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
