Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to join a GP practice in Lytham St Annes. The role supports the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity, in a proactive primary care setting.

The position involves managing patient flow, assisting with core clinical duties and contributing to high‑quality care delivery within a well-supported practice environment.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
