Job summary

RVU in the UK is seeking a hands-on Risk Pricing Lead to join the Pricing & Underwriting team. You will build and manage models from claims and policy data to deliver commercially valuable pricing and portfolio insight.

You'll develop frequency, severity and burn cost models while validating data quality and presenting insights to senior stakeholders and insurer partners. The role is hybrid with 2 in-office days in London or base in Fleet, Hampshire.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building pricing or risk models with data assessment and validation.
• Ability to price where data is limited and adapt modelling approaches.
• Experience owning pricing post-launch: lead metrics and portfolio mix.
• Background in UK General Insurance, motor preferred, with insurer/MGA/broker exposure.
• Advanced analytics skills; Python or R desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing models and portfolio insights to hit target loss ratios.
• Lead data quality assessment, feature selection, segmentation and validation.
• Price effectively with limited history using credibility and external data.
• Manage pricing models commercially post-live and monitor metrics.
• Recommend pricing and underwriting changes balancing profitability and growth.
• Present pricing insights to senior stakeholders and partners.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Data and Product to implement models.
• Support FCA fair value and Consumer Duty compliance.
• Mentor junior analysts where applicable.
