A leading company in the visual effects industry is seeking a Previs Artist to design pre-visualised shots and sequences. This role involves collaborating with the Visualisation Supervisor to define shot composition and lighting, while adapting to creative changes throughout the project. The position requires a hybrid work model with some on-set work, providing a dynamic environment for creativity and collaboration.
Framestore’s Preproduction Services division enables filmmakers and showrunners to make early-stage, creative decisions that can then guide their entire production. We have over a hundred creatives, technologists, and producers working across concept art, previsualisation, virtual production, in-camera VFX, techvis, and postvis.
Framestore combines talent and technology to bring life to everything we create. Driven by creativity and inspired by the future, we set out every day to reframe the possible.
You will design pre-visualised shots and sequences on a project basis, working with the creative direction of the Visualisation Supervisor to define shot composition, staging, lighting, and camera language—including movement, lens choices, and framing. Our Previs Artists are viewed as in-house cinematographers and 3D storyboarders, visualising the Director's initial edit to inform the shoot and post-production VFX lifecycle.
You will also produce technical information in diagram form or animated schematics, known as 'techvis', based on the previs.
Framestore offers a hybrid working model, requiring two days per week at our central London studio. Depending on project needs, this role may also involve on-set work for up to five days per week.
Our London studio is fully accessible, with step-free entry, accessible toilets on all floors, and quiet spaces available. We are committed to supporting disabled colleagues and providing an inclusive workplace for everyone.
