Job summary

Rullion is recruiting a Pressure Compliance Engineer on a contract basis in Bristol to manage pressure systems compliance and structural integrity for HPC projects, interfacing with managers, regulators, and the supply chain.

The role may involve travel to mainland Europe and requires degree in engineering, familiarity with RCC-M/ASME, and experience in regulated industries such as power generation or nuclear.

Role: Pressure Compliance Engineer

Position: Contract

Location: Bristol

Days on Site: 2- 3

Duration: Approx until 31st Aug 2027

Pay: up to £378 PAYE/ £515 Umbrella

Job Purpose / Overview

The Pressure Compliance Mechanical Engineer will report to the Pressure System Completions and Integration Manager and will take responsibility for managing the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements on behalf of a specific scope identified by the Pressure System Completions and Integration Manager and Pressure Compliance Lead, ensuring appropriate implementation and compliance to meet HPC project needs. The role holder will support the implementation of pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements within specific projects, on behalf of a specific programme. They will support the project managers in ensuring compliance and delivery for HPC. The role will require good technical and organisational capabilities to effectively interface with Project Managers and relevant stakeholders in the programme, the ONR, third party organisations and support the supply chain in delivery. The role may require trips abroad (mostly mainland Europe).

Knowledge
  • Managing structural integrity and pressure regulation compliance requirements in the nuclear industry.
  • Mechanical engineering design and operation of pressure equipment specifically built to RCC-M or ASME codes.
  • Working in a multidisciplinary and matrix environment.
  • Working with regulators and supply chain companies to coach through the pressure compliance process.
  • Knowledge of the nuclear industry and EDF group would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to plant in the UK would be a plus.
Skills
  • Ability to be focussed on the requirements of the project, to show a 'can-do' approach to work and to work independently or with others to achieve the team goals.
  • Ability to credibly interact with various stakeholders and to influence the internal teams and contractor partners, working in matrix organisation.
  • Communication skills via appropriate media.
  • Have awareness of technical limitation and be able to involve others when required.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Science based discipline.
  • Chartered Member of appropriate professional institution would be a plus (IMeche Preferred), or capable of being chartered.
Experience
  • Relevant Experience in large scale project or asset management within a highly regulated industry sector as Power Generation, Nuclear Industry or Oil & Gas / Petro-Chemical.
  • Relevant experiences in relation with the engineering topics associated to pressure systems manufacture, installation, structural integrity and conformity assessment.
  • Experience in mult i-cultural industrial projects.
