Job summary

Workforce Staffing are recruiting 2 experienced Press Brake Setters to join the night-shift production team in Nottingham. You will set and operate CNC press brake machinery, interpret drawings and select tooling to create high-quality folded components to specification.

This role requires experience with CNC press brakes, the ability to work to tight tolerances, and a hands-on approach in a busy fabrication environment. Nights shift and 40-hour weeks with potential overtime are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Press Brake Setter or Operator.
• Proven ability to set and operate CNC press brakes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience selecting tooling and adjusting machine settings.
• Ability to maintain tight tolerances.
• Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.
• Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar machinery.
• Counterbalance forklift licence.
• Overhead crane or lifting equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC press brake machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select tooling and machine settings for each job.
• Set up machines and adjust settings to achieve bends and tolerances.
• Produce high-quality folded components across materials and thicknesses.
• Perform first-off inspections and ongoing quality checks.
• Use verniers, rulers and angle gauges for measurements.
• Identify and report machine or production issues and resolve where possible.
• Work to production schedules and maintain output levels.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with the wider production team.

About the Role

Workforce are currently working with a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in Nottingham to recruit 2 experienced Press Brake Setters to join their night-shift production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Press Brake Setter who is confident setting and operating CNC press brake machinery and enjoys working within a busy fabrication environment.

You will be responsible for setting machines, selecting the correct tooling and producing high-quality folded components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC press brake machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.
• Set up machines and make adjustments to achieve the required bends and tolerances.
• Produce high-quality folded and bent components across a range of materials and thicknesses.
• Carry out first-off inspections and regular quality checks throughout production.
• Use measuring equipment including verniers, rulers and angle gauges.
• Identify and resolve quality issues where possible and report any machine or production problems.
• Work to production schedules and maintain agreed output levels.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.
• Work closely with the wider production and fabrication team when required.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter / Operator.
• Proven experience setting and operating CNC press brakes.
• Ability to work with a range of materials and material thicknesses.
• Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience selecting tooling and adjusting machine settings.
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of sheet metal and fabrication processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently.
• Good team-working skills and a positive attitude.
• Experience using Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar press brake machinery.
• Counterbalance forklift licence.
• Overhead crane or lifting equipment experience.
