Job summary

Linkster Recruitment seeks a Press Brake Operator for a temp‑to‑perm role in Swadlincote. The position involves setting and operating press brake machinery to bend sheet metal to drawing specifications. Morning shift 06:00–14:00, 37.5 hours/week, with overtime paid at 1.33, 1.5 and 2.0x.

Salary is around £32k per year. Responsibilities include setting up tooling, performing first off checks, bending parts to tolerance, and using Vernier calipers and gauges for measurement.

Qualifications

• Experience in setting and operating press brake machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances and material specifications.
• Competent with measuring and inspection tools.
• FLT licence advantageous (not mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machines according to specifications.
• Install and align tooling, punches and dies correctly.
• Perform first off checks to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Bend and form sheet metal parts to tight tolerances.
• Measure finished parts with inspection tools.
• Operate forklift to move materials in production area.
• Conduct pre-use checks and follow safety procedures.
• Monitor quality control processes and address issues.
• Complete production documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
