Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd is seeking a CNC Press Brake Operator to join their Derby team. You will set up and run Bystronic/TRUMPF machinery, read engineering drawings, and ensure parts meet exacting specifications in a fast-paced production setting.

The role offers a day/night shift on a 4 on / 4 off pattern with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Derby-based opportunity with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience operating and setting CNC Press Brake machines (Bystronic/TRUMPF preferred).
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Bystronic and TRUMPF CNC Press Brake machines for batch sizes.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Select tooling and configure machine settings.
• Produce formed sheet metal components to specifications and tolerances.
• Perform quality checks throughout production.
• Adjust programs and machine parameters to maintain accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet delivery targets.
• Ensure safety and quality procedures are followed.

Our client is looking for a CNC Press Brake Operator to join their team in Derby.

The Opportunity - CNC Press Brake Operator

My client is open to someone looking to work on a Day Shift or Night Shift on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brake machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently to customer specifications.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working within a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in producing quality work.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• The Press Brake Operator will set and operate Bystronic and TRUMPF CNC Press Brake machinery for a range of batch sizes.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Select appropriate tooling and configure machine settings.
• Produce formed sheet metal components to required specifications and tolerances.
• Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
• Adjust programmes and machine parameters where necessary to maintain accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to achieve delivery targets.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company safety and quality procedures.

About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• The CNC Press Brake Operator must have at least 3 years’ experience operating and setting CNC Press Brake machines ideally Bystronic/ TRUMPF Machines
• The ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Experience with Bystronic or TRUMPF machinery (advantageous but not essential).
• A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality.
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement activities.

What's In It For You?

• £32,500 - £36,000 basic salary
• 4 on / 4 off day shifts (6:00am - 6:00pm)
