Job summary

Early Years Academy in Leicester is seeking a confident Preschool Lead / Third in Charge to oversee daily preschool operations, lead a team of staff and ensure high standards of early education within the EYFS framework. You will mentor colleagues, support safeguarding and contribute to Ofsted readiness while maintaining a nurturing environment for children’s development and school readiness.

Term-time pattern with hours 8:30am–3:00pm offers a structured day and opportunities for leadership

Qualifications

• Qualified in Childcare or Early Years with EYFS knowledge.
• Experience leading a preschool or room in charge.
• Strong leadership and safeguarding understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the preschool room and ensure high-quality care and early education.
• Plan engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with EYFS.
• Monitor observations and children’s development; support staff with curriculum planning.
