Job summary

Vertu BMW Teesside Prep Centre is hiring a Prep Technician to perform pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles. You will ensure PDIs meet manufacturer guidelines, work to tight timeframes, and maintain high productivity while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires a relevant formal qualification (Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3), current Vehicle Technician experience, your own tools, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Has a formal Automotive qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3).
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• MOT licence preferred but not essential.
• Own set of tools required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles.
• Ensure PDIs meet manufacturer guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• Work to agreed timeframes while maintaining high productivity.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support first-time fixes where possible.

We are offering a basic salary up to £36,900 depending on skills and experienceplus a bonus opportunity of up to £5,000.

Your role as a Vehicle Technician is crucial in delivering an exceptional customer experience, built on trust and honesty. As a Prep Technician you will be responsible for carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI's) on new and used vehicles. You will ensure the PDI's are carried out to the highest possible standard and within manufacturer guidelines. You will need to work to agreed time frames, and maintain a high level of productivity, whilst ensuring exceptional customer service at all times. Quality workmanship and achieving first-time fixes are core values that guide everything we do.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

• A relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician
• MOT license preferred but not essential
• Your own set of tools
• A full UK driving licence
