Job summary

Vertu Ford Newcastle is seeking a Prep Technician to perform pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles. The role emphasises quality workmanship and adherence to manufacturer guidelines, while meeting time frames and maintaining productivity.

Qualifications

• A relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3.
• Current experience as a Vehicle Technician.
• MOT license preferred but not essential.
• Your own set of tools.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI's) on new and used vehicles.
• Ensure PDIs are carried out to the highest standard and within manufacturer guidelines.
• Work to agreed time frames while maintaining productivity.
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
• Strive for quality workmanship and first-time fixes.

We are offering a basic salary between £28,000 to £35,000 depending on skills and experience. This is based on a 40-hour working week and Saturdays paid as overtime and includes an additional over-performance bonus opportunity.

Your role as a Vehicle Technician is crucial in delivering an exceptional customer experience, built on trust and honesty. As a Prep Technician you will be responsible for carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI's) on new and used vehicles. You will ensure the PDI's are carried out to the highest possible standard and within manufacturer guidelines. You will need to work to agreed time frames, and maintain a high level of productivity, whilst ensuring exceptional customer service at all times. Quality workmanship and achieving first-time fixes are core values that guide everything we do.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

• A relevant formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3
