Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a service leader to provide day-to-day management and leadership for the Preoperative Assessment Centre team, ensuring timely, high-quality preoperative assessments for elective surgical patients.

The post holder will work with the consultant anaesthetist and POA Matron, manage resources and staff, and drive service improvement while upholding NHS values and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership of a multiprofessional clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day management and leadership for the Preoperative Assessment Centre team.
• Operate a patient-responsive service so that all patients receive an appropriate and competent preoperative assessment.
• Hold and manage the budget for the POAC area and act as authorised signatory.
• Deploy and supervise staff across POAC including nursing, admin and support workers.
• Collaborate with the Consultant Anaesthetist, POA Matron and other healthcare professionals in the patient care pathway.
