Job summary

Liverpool Football Club Foundation seeks a casual Coach to plan and deliver engaging football and personal development sessions for young people aged 8–18 in community settings across Liverpool City Region. You will work evenings and weekends, joining a committed team focused on safer, stronger, more inclusive communities.

You will bring proven football coaching experience with children and a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Essential: FA Level 1 / Introduction to Coaching Football (or equivalent qualification), in-date Safeguarding Children & Young People and Emergency 1st Aid training certification.
• Desirable: A recognised Youth Work qualification, Mental Health First Aid Qualification.
• Experience: Practical background working or coaching young people in a community, youth work, or sports setting. Proven track record of working with hard-to-reach groups.

• Session Delivery: Plan and lead inspiring, interactive football, sport and personal development sessions for ages 8 to 18.
• Safety & Welfare: Carry out dynamic risk assessments and follow safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion procedures.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies to ensure safety and wellbeing of participants.
• Engagement: Motivate and inspire participants, build positive relationships and manage behaviour.
• Communication: Work well in a team and interact with participants, parents, staff and external partners.

About the role

Kicks is the Premier League's flagship community programme which uses the power of football to inspire young people to reach their potential. The programme creates opportunities for young people aged 8-18 who are at risk of anti-social behaviour, youth violence and/or from high need areas.

As a Premier League Kicks Casual Coach successful candidates would plan and deliver safe, engaging football and youth led sessions for young people aged 8 to 18 in community settings Monday-Friday evenings, working with our committed team to help build stronger, safer and more inclusive communities across Liverpool City Region.

What will you be doing?

• Session Delivery: Plan and lead inspiring, interactive and engaging football, sport and personal development sessions tailored to the age and ability of participants.
• Safety & Welfare: Undertake dynamic risk assessments and strictly follow safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) procedures.
• Adhere to LFC Foundation Safeguarding policies and procedures at all times, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our participants is paramount.
• Engagement: Motivate and inspire participants, building positive relationships and managing behaviour effectively in community outreach programmes, whilst providing a safe, inclusive and fun environment for young people to meet new friends, develop key life skills and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
• Communication: Work well within a team and interact professionally with participants, parents, staff, and external community stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you must have proven professional experience in football coaching, especially working with children and young people, and have a commitment to nurturing talent. You’ll have previous experience of planning and delivering high-quality football sessions in a community setting. You’ll be someone who understands the importance of tailoring your coaching to the individual needs of players and is dedicated to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to succeed, showcasing your commitment to Liverpool FC Foundation’s mission.

You’ll bring strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a flexible approach. Your excellent communication skills will ensure you build strong relationships with participants, staff, parents, and external partners. Above all, you’ll be a role model, representing Liverpool FC Foundation with professionalism, passion, and pride.
