Job summary

Sinewave in Swindon is seeking a Major Projects Pre Construction Manager to join our Delivery team. You will act as the first point of contact for pre-construction design queries and help ensure projects move from design to delivery on schedule.

You will maintain pre-construction programs, work with clients and stakeholders, gather data, set up project communication systems, manage reports, chase invoices and support across development, design submission and payment stages.

Qualifications

• Extensive project management experience, particularly within the electrical utility industry.
• Experience working for or with ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33-132kV).
• SMSTS certification and full driving licence (max 3 points) are preferred.
• Emergency first aid at work qualification and familiarity with ISO/quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first contact for pre-construction enquiries through all channels.
• Review and maintain current pre-construction programs of work.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to deliver projects on time.
• Gather data from customers and site visits to inform estimating and delivery.
• Set up and maintain project communication systems and documentation.
• Maintain project status reports and monitoring tools for project owners.
• Attend meetings to understand support needs for each project.
• Assist with pre-energisation documentation and routine updates/reports.
• Chase invoices and liaise with Project Manager on payment terms.
• Assist with development, design submission, payment stages, construction and operations.
• Carry out tasks to support successful delivery of projects.

Job description

This role:

We are looking for a Major Projects Pre Construction Manager to come and join our growing Delivery team.

This will be someone who challenges what we do daily and thrives working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines helping us build for the future.

An idea of what you'll be doing:

• Acting as the first point of contact for project pre-construction enquiries (i.e. design) through all communication channels.
• Reviewing and maintaining accurate and current pre-construction programs of work for the projects they support
• Working closely with internal and external stakeholders and clients to support projects delivery to completion on time
• Data gathering through customers and site visits to ensure that the estimating and delivery team have the required pre-construction information
• Setting up and maintaining Project Communication System supplied by the Client/EPC Contractor and other party including internal distribution, archiving and storage of all incoming and outgoing correspondence/documentation.
• Maintaining management tools such as Status Report and any other form of monitoring report required by Project Owner
• Partake in relevant meetings to gain understanding of support required for each project
• Support with the creation of pre-energisation documentation
• Providing routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level to enhance client experience
• Chase invoices for ongoing works and liaise with Project Manager to ensure any payment terms are fulfilled
• Assist with various administrative functions in project development and design submission, payment stages, construction and operations
• Carrying out reasonable tasks as requested by Project Managers and senior managers to support the successful delivery of projects

You’ll have a proven track record of:

• Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
• Excellent listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Extensive Project Management experience, particularly within the electrical utility industry
• Proven track record of effectively managing projects
• Competence in MS Project or equivalent Project Management software
• Ability to work with multiple teams at any one time to tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of the Project life cycle, from ownership to completion
• Ability to project profit and loss forecasting and delivery
• Project reporting, particularly progress against target and budget
• Strong understanding of Streetworks and permits
• Confident in customer management
• Ability to drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects
• Excellent organisation and coordination skills
