Job summary

Bouygues Travaux Publics, a leader in civil engineering, seeks a senior readiness lead for the Sizewell C civil works alliance. You will interface with programme, engineering, construction, procurement, permitting and environmental teams to ensure prerequisites for delivery are met. Develop readiness plans, oversee earthworks and site establishment, ensure compliance with HSSE standards. The role is on-site in the Sizewell C project context.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional membership with ICE, APM, CIOB.
• CSCS card (valid).
• CEFR Level B2 or above in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and readiness for enabling and earthworks within the Civil Works Alliance at Sizewell C.
• Act as interface between programme, engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, permitting, environmental and supply chain teams to ensure prerequisites for delivery are met.
• Develop and manage readiness plans, coordinate cross-functional activities, and monitor risks and constraints for seamless mobilization and execution.
• Oversee site establishment, temporary works, utilities diversions, access roads, environmental mitigation, and earthworks operations.
• Ensure HSSE compliance, including CDM Regulations, nuclear industry standards, and SZC policies.
• Provide governance and assurance by establishing readiness reporting, dashboards, and performance indicators for senior management.

Bouygues are part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance) and as the CWA we will support the building for Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.

What You Will Do

• Lead the planning, coordination, and readiness activities for enabling and earthworks operations within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) at Sizewell C.
• Act as the critical interface between program, engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, permitting, environmental, and supply chain teams to ensure all prerequisites for delivery are met.
• Develop and manage readiness plans , coordinate cross-functional activities, and monitor risks and constraints to ensure seamless mobilization and execution.
• Oversee site establishment, temporary works, utilities diversions, access roads, environmental mitigation, and earthworks operations .
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards , including CDM Regulations, nuclear industry standards, and SZC policies .
• Provide governance and assurance by establishing readiness reporting, dashboards, and performance indicators for senior management.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional membership of a recognized institution (eg, ICE, APM, CIOB ).
• CSCS card (in date).
• CEFR Level B2 or above in English (if applicable).

Experience

• Significant experience in major infrastructure, nuclear, rail, highways, energy, or large-scale construction projects .
• Proven track record in preconstruction, construction readiness, or mobilization leadership roles .
• Experience managing enabling works and earthworks programs on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction delivery, engineering processes, and project lifecycle management .
• Knowledge of earthworks, temporary works, construction logistics, and enabling infrastructure .

Skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills .
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and interfaces .
• Commercial and procurement awareness.
• Risk management and mitigation planning expertise.Strong organizational and collaborative skills .
