Job summary

Owen Daniels in Derbyshire is seeking an experienced Vertical Turner or Vertical Borer to programme, set and operate high-precision machines for low-volume, high-integrity components.

You will interpret engineering drawings, use a range of materials including nickel alloys and titanium, and conduct in-process inspection, ensuring tight tolerances and adherence to quality standards in a precision machining environment.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
• Experience programming, setting and operating vertical borers or turners.
• Strong interpretation of engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience in a precision machining environment.
• Ability to machine various materials.
• Experience with Fanuc or Siemens controls would be advantageous.
• Experience in Aerospace, Nuclear or Power Generation industries beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate Vertical Turning/ Boring machines.
• Machine low-volume, high-integrity components to tight tolerances.
• Interpret drawings and documentation.
• Carry out in-process inspection and production paperwork.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance checks.
