Job summary

STR Group Limited in Wellingborough is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join a specialist manufacturing business. You will weld stainless steel to a high standard, read engineering drawings and work from detailed instructions, with initial day shifts during training before moving to backshift with a 20% premium.

Role requires 5+ years TIG welding in manufacturing, and coding to EN287-1/ASME IX/PED. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience welding stainless steel to a high standard.
• Able to read engineering drawings and follow work instructions.
• Desirable: experience with 316, Duplex or Super Duplex.
• Overtime may be required at short notice.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld stainless steel to a high standard.
• Work from drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Carry out pressure testing, helium leak testing and bead blasting.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area tidy.
• Support inspections, continuous improvement and other production activities.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
