Job summary

Rapiscan Systems in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Tube Assembly Technician - Welder to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on precision TIG welding to assemble large X-ray tube components in a clean room environment.

You will take ownership of safety, quality, and process compliance while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and meeting production targets across rotating early/late shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in TIG welding and precision fabrication.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
• Able to work independently and support different production areas.
• UHV technology, autogenous welding and clean room experience are advantageous.
• 5S and continuous improvement experience beneficial.
• Trained in compressed gas handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform the setup, alignment, and welding of precision stainless steel components.
• Take ownership of health, safety, and compliance within the welding area.
• Inspect your own work and support quality assurance activities.
• Identify production issues and improvement opportunities.
• Support production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain clean room standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
