Job summary

Sheet Metal Worker position in Newhaven, East Sussex, with Terry Parris Associates in a busy metal fabrication environment. You will perform precision sheet metal work, TIG welding and high‑grade polishing on stainless steel, using a range of machinery.

We seek candidates with a minimum two‑year apprenticeship in metal fabrication and hands‑on experience in sheet metal work, fabrication and welding. The role is permanent, 39 hours per week, with potential travel or overseas work as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year apprenticeship in Metal Fabrication.
• Experience in sheet metal work and welding.
• Willingness to work with stainless steel and polish to high finish.

Responsibilities

• Precision sheet metal work to fine tolerances.
• TIG welding and finishing on stainless steel.
• High-grade polishing of stainless steel surfaces.
• Operating machinery including guillotines, press brakes, plasma cutters, saws, rollers and grinders.
• Working from engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
• Producing both individual components and complete product assemblies.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and workmanship.
