Contek Recruitment Solutions LTD. in Leicester is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join a busy precision engineering subcontractor.

You will carry out first-off, patrol and final inspections of precision machined components against engineering drawings using a range of manual tools and the Aberlink CMM where required. The role offers a four-day week (Mon-Thu) with overtime on Fridays and a competitive salary dependent on experience, in a modern manufacturing environment that supplies

Qualifications

Ideally apprentice trained or from a time-served engineering background.
Experience as Quality Inspector within a precision engineering/CNC milling environment.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
Experience using a range of manual inspection equipment including Verniers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Shadow Graphs.
Experience operating a manual Aberlink CMM is highly desirable (programming not required).
Experience completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
Experience raising and investigating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Competent carrying out first-off, patrol and final inspection.
Strong attention to detail with good record keeping.
Good computer literacy and experience completing inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

Carry out first-off, patrol and final inspection of precision machined components.
Inspect components against engineering drawings using a range of manual inspection equipment.
Operate the manual Aberlink CMM to verify component dimensions where required.
Complete FAIR documentation in line with customer requirements.
Raise, investigate and assist in resolving NCRs.
Assist the Quality Manager with day-to-day quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure inspection records and quality documentation are completed accurately.
Support production by identifying quality issues and helping maintain efficient manufacturing processes.
Ensure all inspection activities comply with ISO 9001 quality procedures.
Work closely with production, engineering and management to maintain the highest quality standards.
