Job summary

First Base Employment are recruiting on behalf of our client for two Quality Inspector opportunities in Derby’s busy precision engineering and manufacturing environment. One role is permanent and the other contract through to the end of October 2026.

We are looking for experienced Quality Inspectors who can read engineering drawings, carry out First Off and in-process inspections, and operate CMM equipment. Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or precision engineering is required.
• Proficient in First Off and in-process inspections.
• Familiar with CMM programming and operation.
• Able to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and right-first-time mindset.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out First Off, receipt and in-process inspections.
• Run CMM programmes, analyse results and record findings.
• Support non-conformance process and containment actions.
• Liaise with Engineering for smooth NPI transitions.
• Read Job Cards and manufacturing instructions before work.
• Interpret drawings, inspection plans and data cards.
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify component conformity.
• Maintain clean, safe 5S工作 area and support CI activities.
