Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembly Technician near Stoke on Trent to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation. You will be assembling and testing a wide range of mechanical equipment.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and is proficient with basic measuring tools, such as micrometers and digital calipers, and can work independently to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Background of mechanical assembly/ fitting.
• Knowledge and experience of engineering drawings.
• Skills akin to a tool maker for one off orders in addition to bulk orders.
• Ability to use measuring tools i.e., micrometre, digital caliper.
• Intricate fine tolerance mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly experience.
• To be able to read and understand engineering drawings, for sub-assemblies.
• Experience with fitting tolerances and critical dimensions.
• Working to drawings and build instructions, be able to build complex assemblies with up to 150 component bill of materials.
• Awareness of how to fault find and determine cause of failure or issues and develop solutions.
• Have a keen eye for detail, being able to identify issues in a built assembly that would cause failure under test.
• Be a self-starter that can work independently towards set targets and goals
• Be organised in working process, having an awareness of 5S .
