Job summary

Hales Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Technician on behalf of a leading engineering manufacturer based in Beccles. This role focuses on building bespoke automation and specialist machinery from engineering drawings, followed by assembly, fitting and testing of high-quality equipment.

Working from technical specifications, you will interpret build instructions, perform precision fitting and alignment, and use hand tools and power tools safely.

Qualifications

• Experience in Mechanical Assembly or similar engineering role
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly of machinery, sub-assemblies and specialist equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, build instructions and technical documentation
• Precision fitting, alignment and installation of mechanical components
• Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
• Selecting, modifying and installing parts to meet design specifications
• Carrying out quality inspections throughout the assembly process
• Identifying and reporting faults, defects or build issues
• Maintaining accurate production records and documentation
• Working to company quality, safety and production standards
