Job summary

The client in Beccles is recruiting a Technical Assembly Operative on a temporary basis. The role requires reading instructions, drawings and specifications to assemble components accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an assembly/manufacturing/engineering environment, with hands-on skills using hand tools and machinery, and a strong commitment to quality and safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in an assembly, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Able to read blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions.
• Skilled with hand tools and machinery.
• Good understanding of quality control and inspection procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to read work instructions and procedures.
• HNC or HND in technical discipline is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand work instructions, drawings and procedures.
• Gather materials and equipment before starting each task.
• Take accurate measurements to ensure components fit correctly.
• Select, adjust or modify components according to measurements and specifications.
• Align materials and assemble parts to create more complex units.
• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Use a variety of hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Keep tools and equipment clean, maintained and in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of production quantities and time spent on tasks.
• Identify and report any issues, equipment malfunctions or defective components.
• Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
