Job summary

Berry Recruitment Group is seeking a committed manual centre lathe machinist in Oxfordshire. You will set up and operate manual lathes to manufacture precision components from engineering drawings, focusing on tolerances and material types including stainless steel and brass.

The role requires reliable teamwork, ability to work to strict tolerances, and willingness to learn additional machines. 37 hours/week with potential overtime; interview on-site in Abingdon.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual lathes and producing precision parts from drawings.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Experience with stainless steel and alloys.
• Willingness to learn other machines and processes.
• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes to produce precision components.
• Interpret drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate machining.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools.
• Collaborate with team in a busy workshop and maintain safety.
• Adhere to quality and tolerance requirements for finished parts.
