Job summary
Novanta Taunton is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support state-of-the-art manufacturing operations, maintaining CNC machines, EDM tools and coating systems to ensure high uptime and product quality.
The role requires hands-on, safety-conscious individuals who can work independently, manage multiple tasks and collaborate with engineers and contractors to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in engineering, electrical, or maintenance.
- Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks.
- Awareness of health & safety practices and procedures.
- A proactive, hands-on attitude with strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on CNC machines, EDM tools and coating systems.
- Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
- Support TPM initiatives to improve equipment performance.
- Work from technical drawings, manuals and instructions to ensure accurate maintenance.
- Maintain a safe working environment through risk assessments and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, production teams and external contractors.
