Deritend, part of the Rubix Group, seeks a skilled machinist to perform precision turning, milling and drilling to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies. You will balance components, weld, grind and spray metals as required while following strict workflow procedures and safety policies.

The role requires high school qualifications with engineering apprenticeship pathways and hands-on training, emphasizing safe, accurate workmanship in a busy workshop.

Responsibilities

• Perform turning, milling and drilling on lathes, CNC machines and conventional machines to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies.
• Ensure workflow procedures are followed and data is recorded for sizes and drawings.
• Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
• Perform metal spraying techniques as needed and weld using MIG, TIG, torch or stick methods.
• Set up tool-post grinding, broaching and Babbitt bearing work.
• Adhere to all H&S policies and promote a culture of safe work practices.
