Job summary

MDE Consultants Ltd invites applications for a Lab Technician in Taunton, Somerset. The role covers laboratory and production processes for small precision components, with duties including cleaning, testing, and etching.

Working in a controlled environment, you will handle chemicals, follow COSHH and Health & Safety procedures, and contribute to safe, accurate production. Start ASAP, 35 hours/week, with a permanent contract and attractive pension and holiday provisions.

Qualifications

• Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Chemical handling experience beneficial.
• Cleaning, testing or etching experience beneficial.
• Comfortable working with chemicals.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Able to follow procedures accurately.
• Comfortable working within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning small precision components and assemblies.
• Testing components and assemblies.
• Carrying out etching processes.
• Handling chemicals safely.
• Handling bulk materials up to approximately 25 kg where required.
• Following Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Following production procedures and work instructions.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
• Supporting general laboratory and production activities.
