Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in the Taunton area for a Lab Technician. This temporary role offers a path to permanent employment for the right candidate, with an immediate start and 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You will work in a controlled environment, handle chemicals safely under COSHH, and support quality-focused manufacturing activities while developing specialist skills and progressing within a stable company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, laboratory, processing or quality-focused environments.
• Experience handling chemicals or controlled materials is advantageous.
• Understanding COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to follow procedures and work instructions accurately.
• Reliable, positive and flexible attitude to work.

Responsibilities

• Support specialist manufacturing and processing activities.
• Handle chemicals and controlled materials in line with COSHH and safety procedures.
• Prepare, process and inspect small components and assemblies.
• Follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
• Carry out checks to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.
• Work effectively as part of a small team.
