Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in the Taunton area for a Lab Technician. This temporary role offers a path to permanent employment for the right candidate, with an immediate start and 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You will work in a controlled environment, handle chemicals safely under COSHH, and support quality-focused manufacturing activities while developing specialist skills and progressing within a stable company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, laboratory, processing or quality-focused environments.
• Experience handling chemicals or controlled materials is advantageous.
• Understanding COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in the Taunton area for a Lab Technician.

This role is being offered on a temporary basis initially, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. This Lab Technician role would suit candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, laboratory support, quality control or process-based environments.

The Role

As a Lab Technician, you will carry out a variety of hands-on tasks within a controlled working environment, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and in line with established procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting specialist manufacturing and processing activities
• Handling chemicals and controlled materials in accordance with COSHH and Health & Safety procedures
• Preparing, processing and inspecting small components and assemblies
• Following detailed work instructions and quality standards
• Carrying out checks to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area
• Working effectively as part of a small team

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this Lab Technician opportunity, you should have:
