Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group is recruiting a Technical Buyer in Coventry to lead technical purchasing across motorsport and precision engineering. You will secure suitable suppliers, drive supplier development and manage cost, lead-time and risk from RFQ to contract award, ensuring quality and on-time delivery for multiple streams.

We expect MCIPS or progress toward it, plus engineering or purchasing degree. You will translate engineering requirements into sourcing decisions and leverage Excel and ERP/MRP

Qualifications

• End-to-end technical purchasing in automotive or precision engineering.
• Translate engineering requirements into sourcing decisions.
• Run RFQs, evaluate quotations and negotiate with suppliers.
• Familiar with supplier qualification and quality systems.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP/MRP for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Run sourcing projects from technical review to supplier nomination and award.
• Translate engineering requirements into sourcing decisions for materials and equipment.
• Prepare RFQs and compare quotations on total cost basis; select suppliers.
• Qualify suppliers through capability assessments, audits and first article inspection.
• Build should-cost models and negotiate prices and long-term agreements.
• Assess supply risk and embed ESG considerations into tendering.
