Job summary

SVC Technical is seeking a Panel Wirer to assemble, wire, and test electrical distribution panels and sub-assemblies in line with engineering drawings and industry standards. The role demands high workmanship, meticulous wiring, and strict safety adherence within a busy workshop environment.

You will read schematics and BOMs, fit panels up to 400VAC, and perform basic tests and checks to ensure functional operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Panel Wire Person or LV Panel Builder.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with low voltage distribution panels up to 400VAC.
• High attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Capability to work to production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Assemble electrical control panels, distribution boards, and sub-assemblies to specification.
• Carry out panel wiring including trunking, cable looms, terminals, and busbar connections to circuit breakers and other components.
• Cut, strip, crimp, label and terminate cables to a high standard.
• Ensure wiring is neat, clearly identified, and compliant with standards and regulations.
• Perform basic electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance) and functional checks.
• Identify and report drawing errors or build issues to engineering or supervision.
• Work to production schedules and meet build times and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Comply with health & safety policies and safe working practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
